April 2016. Another Excellence Award for the Whittaker Library. You know, we must be quite good!
May 2014. Reflecting on my Teaching Practice as an Academic Librarian – read this blogpost HERE.
April 2014. I’ve just attended the IAML UK & Ireland Annual Study Weekend in Cambridge. It was a busy trip, as I gave a paper at the Academic Music Librarians’ Seminar; led two quickfire sessions on library social media best practice; and received an Excellence Award for the Whittaker Library and a Personal Achievement Award for myself. Press release about the awards:- http://www.iaml.info/iaml-uk-irl/news/excellence_2014.pdf
I’m a chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and a member of IAML (International Association of Music Libraries, and if I have an enduring aspiration as a librarian, it’s this:- I don’t want just to be thanked for finding the correct piece of information for a reader. I want to be thanked for inspiring readers to find more repertoire, better information, deeper background for their programme notes. Above all I want to encourage our staff and students to explore and extend their creativity, and I’ll do whatever it takes to achieve that end.
